Guitar Summer Camp for Total Beginners (rising 4th-8th graders)

A great way to start playing the guitar and learn tons of great songs! This camp is designed for students who have little or no experience playing the guitar. Each student will receive all necessary instruction materials from his/her instructors. Students will be broken up into "bands" and will work each day as a group to rehearse and eventually record their own music. Students should expect to practice 30 minutes each night at home. Each student needs their own guitar (and amplifier if using an electric guitar), a notebook, a writing utensil, and a snack/drink if they like. A typical day begins with a review of the previous day's work, followed by a group class on the day's topics. The students will then have a snack/break and reassemble into their "bands" for the remainder of the session.

Whether it be through private lessons, group classes, or the Summer Camp for Total Beginners, these students need to know some basic chords and be able to read tablature. This camp will focus on advancing the student's knowledge of guitar techniques, enhancing their chord library, and learning to put it all together. Students will be broken up into "bands" and will work each day on writing and recording their own song. Each student needs their own guitar (and amplifier if using an electric guitar), a notebook, a writing utensil, and a snack/drink if they like.
